Going to a Wedding
Finished Bed Frame
Just have to show off Joshua's beautiful work on our bed frame. He made it out of cherry wood and placed the iron work in the middle. We found a picture online of a bedframe similar that we wanted it to look like and he made it work. It also has a foot board and it is just gorgeous! The picture doesn't do it justice but it will have to do for now...at the bottom of the bed is my hopechest he made me out of cedar! It is just beautiful too!

Men and Women's Roles in the Church
My husband Joshua has been writing really good articles on the foundation of the Church, he has a blog now where they get published when he is able to write them. But I thought the most recent one was sooo good I had to share at least a portion of it...the rest is on the blog Inspecting Foundations.
"...In today’s society it is unpopular to suggest that men and women are different and have different roles. It is clear, however, from Scripture that this is the case, and that God created us this way so that we might complement one another. When we understand this we can learn to joyfully submit to the unique roles that God has given us..."
"...First of all men are encouraged to be active in public prayer, but women are encouraged concerning their apparel and their godly living. He does not say that women can never pray publicly, or that men should not exemplify godly living, but it does illustrate the different types of ministry that God has equipped men and women for. He goes on to show how these differences manifest themselves in the church..."
"...We will always find the most satisfaction and fulfillment in life (whether in the family or in the church or anywhere) when we submit to God’s order and purpose for our lives. Unfortunately it is the tendency of men and women (and even angels apparently) to want something for which we were never intended. Some women seem to have the attitude that God is withholding some good thing from them, and they look for every loophole to get around it. On the other hand, some men seem to wish that they had the woman’s part. They are quite unwilling to take up the mantle of public prayer and teaching and worship. There is sometimes an attitude of trying to see how little we can do and still be in obedience to God’s order. Let us rather strive to excel in the role that God has given us..."
There is more out there and it is really good to read the whole thing so nothing is taken out of context but it is just such a good study on submission to God's Authority Structure.

Cow Appreciation Day
Today is cow appreication day at Chik-fil-A, meaning that if you dress like a cow you get a free meal! So we all dressed up and hit two different chik-fil-a's for our breakfast and lunch. They encouraged us to go to a different one since we took the effort to dress up! We had fun and I really think my husband is the best man in the world to dress silly with the rest of his family! I am so in love with him! And he sure looks hot even in a cow costume!
The Girls all dressed up--notice Tirzah's tutu |
The boys all dressed up--we couldn't get a good family picture. |
Sooo cute! |

She wanted to eat the bag...actually she wanted the fries but you know how that goes... |
We did a few errands while we were out and Gideon loved being able to "drive" the cart in the grocery store! |
As a special treat Gideon got a "Cars" book that he loves! |

Making Cloth Diapers
So for all those who are curious with what I do with my "free" time here is a little peak of the cloth diapers I am in the midst of making and a few pictures of the process! And how cute they look on my little girl!
First I cut out all the materials and then pit them in a bag for each complete diaper |
Once I sew them together then I stuff them with inserts I have from my bum genius that I don't use |
And then I place them on the cutest little girl in the world! |
Don't babies just look cuter with pretty diapers? |

A Visit with Great Grandmother
I was so glad while we were in North Carolina that we were able to visit Joshua's grandmother. She lives close by to where we were staying so we were able to have a nice visit with her. It was so funny because we had lunch with her in the dining hall where most of the residents eat. As people finished eating they all stopped by our table to say hello to Grandmother and look at Tirzah and Gideon. It was so cute...

Playdate with Twins!
This past week Joshua and I took the children to North Carolina where we were helping with a 5-Day club. It was in the evening so during the day we took some time to visit. Here are some pictures from having lunch with our really good friend Bekah and her twin daughters that are about 14 months old--Maleah and Makelah and she is due with her third little one later this year. We had such a good time and Gideon enjoyed playing with little girls his age. There were these crazy little ducks that came around that were mangy and just so not cute but they sure did hover to get every little goldfish the kidos dropped! Gideon started carrying a stick to "protect" the girls. So cute, it was very, very hot but so good to see friends!
