Cousins

It is a lot of fun having a nephew that is exactly two months younger than Tirzah--though you can't tell when you look at them because he is a big boy. I love seeing all three of the cousins interact with one another. Gideon likes to take care of both Tirzah and Judah whenever he isn't too busy doing his own thing. Tirzah and Judah are both at the age where they like to talk and here themselves talking--so cute when they both get going at the same time!

Sweet Sharing Brother

The other day Gideon was eating his goldfish and he noticed that Tirzah didn't have her passie but she did have her mouth open. So being the sweet and sharing little boy that he is he popped a goldfish into her mouth! Thankfully Mommy was watching and caught it before she sucked it down. He did it the following day when Daddy was holding Tirzah. It's so funny. He LOVES his little sister and he also is very attentive to his little cousin Judah as you can see in the picture below. He likes to talk to his sister and cousin and "tickle" them. Such a wonderful big brother!

Gideon and His Pool!

So Gideon loves water!!! He took this little bucket I filled with water the other day and made it his very own personal pool! That's when we decided we better make his turtle sandbox that we haven't filled with sand into a pool until we blew up our bigger pool. So Gideon loved being in his turtle pool--though his favorite way to swim is to go skinny dipping and he also likes to drink the water! So I have few pictures of him swimming!

A Trip to the Guy's Store

Joshua has just become the proud owner of an amazing weed eater! He needed one to tame the property that we live on and really make it look nice and our other one kind of bit the dust. So he saved up and we went off to the guys's store of all sorts of man lawn supplies! Gideon had a blast riding a lawn mower, trying to honk the "horn" that wasn't there. And Joshua is a happy man!

Fireman Gideon

Yay for Firehouse Subs that gives out little fireman hats to children! Gideon loved walking around with his fire hat on--until it cracked and it had to go...guess we'll have to go by and eat there again so he can get another one sometime!

4.5 Star Hotels for $25 a night!

sniqueaway vacation
If you are looking to get away, SniqueAway is running a very fun promotion. You can have access to a “secret” sale when you spread the word to at least 5 friends before Friday, June 10, at 11:59 am.

At noon, the location and name of the property will be revealed. Those who gained access by telling friends will have the opportunity to book a 4.5 star hotel for $25 a night (maximum 2 night stay).  The catch, we won’t know until next Friday what the hotel is!

Sniqueaway is free to join, but you have to be invited… you can use this invitation to sign up (it’s my link) or get a friend to sign up and then you all help each other get to the secret sale! They have sales everyday too, some today are luxury resorts with rooms starting at $60 a night.

Understanding SniqueAway is easy. Once you're a member, you simply:

LOOK. Check out our site for jaw-dropping photos of our current (and future) escapes. When a destination grabs you (you'll know by the quickening of your pulse), indulge in the details. Inside every SniqueAway Escape, you'll find TripAdvisor reviews, hotel amenities, room details—even local hot spots. Select the dates you desire on the accompanying calendar and the features and pricing of available room options.

BOOK. Make it yours! But act quickly. Our sales only last up to seven days or until the offer sells out—and they sell out fast. Indulgence, evidently, is a hot commodity. Within two weeks of your booking, an email will arrive featuring your hotel confirmation number. That's all that's required for check-in at your destination—although we recommend bringing a toothbrush as well.

SAVE. Our long-term partnerships with the top brands in travel assure you the best possible prices on prime rooms and accommodations at our most-desired hotels.

A Celebration at the Melting Pot

To celebrate Joshua's graduating with his Masters which he will do next week I planned a special dinner treat at the Melting Pot and invited some of my family to come with us. It was quite a delightful dinner and our first experience with a fancy restaurant. For all those who have never been the Melting Pot is a fondue restaurant where you can do many different courses, we decided to try them all and go all out. So first we were started with a mexican cheese fondue that we dipped breads, veggies, chips and apples into. Then we were served incredible tasting salads while we waited for our entree dip to heat up. Then we were given a plate of raw meat that we put on our skewers and placed into the pot to cook and then ate others while we were waiting. It was served with all sorts of interesting dips. The meats included chicken, steak, shrimp, pork and some at the table got crab. The portions were nice and it took time to eat it so we still had room for dessert! Our side of the table ordered flaming turtle chocolate and once the chocolate was in the pot they made it flame by lighting it on fire, how cool is that? They had marshmallows, pound cake, brownies, bannanas, strawberries and cheesecake to dip into that. Ohhh, the night was just so much fun!!!! It is quite the experience--although and expensive one! :-) The Lord really blessed us because I had been wanting to try the Melting Pot for a long time and one day I decided to check a town's groupon that had the melting pot and they just "happened" to be selling ones to the melting pot that day. And they sold out! But I got one--$25 for $50 worth of food! And because I had a little credit built up I really only had to pay out of pocket $5. So that brought down our cost at the restaurant to a more reasonable amount. So if you haven't joined Groupon you really should so you can keep an eye on their daily deals. We were so blessed to be joined by my sisters Maddie and Beth and my parents and my adopted brother Danny!
