Shutterfly Cards/Gifts: $50 Giveaway!!!

So my wonderful sister Beth just took our family pictures!!!! Yay!!! Here is a sneak peak...but it makes me want to out together some sort of Christmas/end of year card to send out to everyone!!!

So Shutterfly is going to make your day---one of you lucky readers is going to get some help with their cards this year (or anything else you want to make)! I've used Shutterfly every year I think except for maybe one...their cards are amazing and their shipping is fast!

I went out to Shutterfly's site to see what they are doing new this year and I am having such a hard time deciding what type of card to do this year...New card design styles for 2013 - 5x7 folded tri fold & back of card designs
o   Classic: Traditional colors, iconic illustrations, aspirational sentiments, snowflakes, monogram
o   Contemporary: trend forward colors, texture and layering, water color techniques, shine, glitter, Instagram pictures are perfect for this style
o   Whimsy: humor and nostalgia meet, fun sentiments
o   Merry and Bright: all about color and having fun
o   Religious: metallic type treatments, incorporated story ideas
o   Photo Basics: multiple colors, vertical type, family name highlights
Okay isn't this tri-fold card amazing???I totally want to do this one...but is it too much for people? I mean it is like a mini photo album...book...should I go for something more simple?
  Or this one?

Choices, choices...and you'll have to make your own choices as well! I also like to finish up my year by making a photo book to review my year...I've done one for each year that we've been married, almost five years! Amazing! I also like to make my Dad a calendar for the following year as he loves picture calendars!

Well, down to the fun part!!! Shutterfly is giving me $50 credit to their site to offer to one of you lucky readers! Also included is free shipping! To enter please leave me a comment telling me what your favorite card on Shuterfly's website is that you would want to use this year...and let me know if you think simple or more complex is better? Giveaway ends November 22nd at 11:59pm!

Also just so you know there will be a Twitter Party #PhotosYouLove on November 15 at 8 PM ET for Shutterfly with @ResourcefulMom.

Disclosure: I am receiving a credit to Shutterfly for writing this review but my opinions are totally my own...it will just help me order the cards I intended on making anyway!

  1. i really hope i win this cause i could use this for my best friend's christmas gift. i want to make a photo book of our story and how we became best friends. i personally think complex is better cause its so much fun to see new ideas and choose many more fun things to put on cards. just what i think. so my answers: 1) photobook and 2) complex

  2. LOVE the photos! As for shutterfly.... I love complex! While simple does have its place in the world and can be helpful in some occasions, with a family Christmas card, I say the more photos the better! The addition of different, fun fonts make for a good personalized touch. And let's face it, who doesn't like receiving a card that looks and feels like time and effort was spent and made to make their card perfectly personal? :) And although it was hard to choose just one card front their site, I think I would have to go with "merriest season". I love the layout, the personal addition of the last name initial, and the cute saying on the front! I believe it would brighten up any mail box it should find itself in and make merry those who receive!

  3. After looking at Shutterfly's website, I think I really like the more traditional cards the mosst because I think it makes the photo stand out more! Along those lines, I think I would choose a simple card over something more complex!

  4. I like the tri-fold and you could never have too many pictures for me! However, if you go simple, I like the last one with the 4 pictures. I love you!

  5. Wow! Tri-fold is greeeeaaattt! Yup never too many pics. Could be a little hard to magnet to the fridge, but oh well. Cute family photos. :) For this year, I love the Shutterfly "Tree Monogram" card. It goes with the photos I'm using and has a quality, modern look. I've already ordered 20 through "freebies" but boy would it be glorious to finish out my order at Shutterfly instead of 10 here and there and everywhere! Thanks for offering this giveaway Steph! Fingers crossed. :)

  14. I am a huge fan of the tri-fold cards. I do not think it would be too much unless you picked a glitzy design AND uploaded really busy pictures. I have to say, I LOVE all the monogrammed cards. But my favorite designs are the Magic and Wonder, Merriest Monogram Memories, or Blessed Wishes Christmas Card (I can't decide).

  21. My favorite is a photo card with "Merry Christmas" written in script across it. It's called "Elegantly Scripted" and there's room for a photo and some text on the back. I think you should go with the trifold! :)

  27. I like the preppy snowflakes card. It's nice having a collage on one side and one big pic on the other. I'd say not too plain but not too crowded either.

  28. I have a lot of favorites so it's hard to choose, but the Shadowed Snowflakes Religious Christmas Card jumped out at me. I'm always torn between simple and complex. I really like the tri-fold card! Michelle is thinking about doing that for her family. Oh, and I think it's really funny that one of your examples says The Bradshaw Family! Haha! I've never seen our name on a sample card before. :-)

  29. My favorite is "Merry Little Tree." I like the simpleness of this one, but I also really like the holiday cards that fold out and where you can do little "year-in-review" summaries. So I don't know if I like simple or complex better! :)

  30. I'd love to win a Shutterfly credit! I use them frequently for my prints, photo books, and our yearly calendar. I prefer simple over complex because I like to be able to display each family's card on our fridge door throughout the year. :) The more complex ones don't stay on as well. :) If I were to win and choose a card, I would probably spend way too much time choosing one, but for now I will say I would go with the "Vintage Vision" style. :)
